Resurfacing along Hindle Road in Delft and Blue Downs

04 November 2025

The City of Cape Town has started with road resurfacing work along segments of Hindle Road between Delft Main Road and the R300 in Delft, and along the full width of Hindle Road between Wesbank Main Road and Saxdowne Road in the Blue Downs. Work will take place between 09:00 and 15:30, Sunday to Friday, until Friday, 5 December 2025. Night work is also scheduled from 19:00 until 04:30 on the aforementioned days.

‘The City is pleased to announce the commencement of this important road maintenance project along Hindle Road. I would like to thank all road users and residents for their patience as we work to ensure that we keep Cape Town moving on good quality roads. With the rainy season behind us, we are making the most of this good weather to do permanent road repairs using hot asphalt,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas.

The roadworks comprise the removal and replacement of the existing road asphalt surfacing on the westbound carriageway of Hindle Road between Delft Main Road and the R300 in Delft and along the full width of Hindle Road between Wesbank Main Road and Saxdowne Road in the Blue Downs area.

Road users are asked to factor in longer travel times and to consider alternative routes while roadworks are under way.

The City also advises road users to be cautious, to lower speeds, and pay attention to road signs, and be vigilant in and around the roadworks area and being mindful of construction workers.
